I first took notice of Lykke Li on Chromewaves a while ago. The Swedish singer-songwriter’s voice was enduring and innocent, in a Joanna Newsom-esque way; but not nearly as…irritating? Something about the melodies of her songs, “Dance Dance Dance” and “I’m Good, I’m Gone” also reminded me of Feist. Feist and Joanna Newsom? Sounds good to me. Li’s debut album, Youth Novels is currently out on LL recordings (Europe) and was produced by Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John. She is currently on tour with El Perro Del Mar and they will both be at the Mod Club on May 11th.
